The library offers many job search, career development, and professional training resources. Use these free tools from your home computer or visit the library for even more - including newspapers, books, reference materials, and computer classes to sharpen your skills. APL offers free wireless access, public computers, and Reference staff to direct you to your research strategies.

Business and Career databases online

The Library subscribes to many electronic directories, which are researched and compiled by information specialists to direct your searches to quality information and articles you can trust. Most databases will require a library card number if you are not at a library computer. Need a library card?

    This interactive career guidance resource provides you with world-renowned interest and skills assessments and allows you to search hundreds of occupation profiles and post-secondary education options. You can create course plans, resumes and covers letters, and keep a personal portfolio of your educational and career development ideas.

  • Testing and Education Reference Center (TERC)
    TERC is designed to help students and career seekers prepare for their future, and excel at the next level. Includes over 300 practice tests and courses, from SATs to Law Enforcement Exams. Also offers dozens of eBooks containing valuable study material and practice tests, information on over 4,000 accredited schools, a scholarship search tool, resume builder and career modules covering subjects from career change to salary negotiations.

At Central Library, print copies are available for the past three months, and microfilm dates back several decades. Back issue stock at other branches varies depending on available space.

City of Anaheim Employment Workforce Center

The Anaheim Workforce Center is an innovative "one-stop" approach to meet employment demands of both businesses and job seekers. Supported by on-line electronic technology and a network of partner agencies, the Center brings employers and job seekers together at a single point of access. Provides use of computers, telephones, fax, copy machines, and typewriters. 

Public Safety Leadership Library Collection
The Public Safety Leadership Library provides a collection of books on current subjects in leadership and services for both individual and team development. The collection goal is to enhance the leadership competencies of current or prospective Public Safety Officers to cultivate leadership excellence in the City of Anaheim. Located at the Anaheim Central and East Anaheim Library.
